I never used to be like this but lately I'm always hungry. Like I can probably eat double the amount of food that I used to. Is this puberty making me always hungry? I'm only 4 feet 8 inches, so I'm small, but my appetite has grown. Should I be worried and when will I go back to normal? My mom gets frustrated when I ask to eat even after dinner because we just ate, so I just eat some fruit or a cookie if she's not looking. Do you have the same feeling? And if you do what do you eat?

Totally normal. It is you metabolism starting to increase which means you are starting to grow. This happens to most people. Sadly for me, I am still as hungry as I was back then, but my metabolism has slowed down

Very true.. you body is starting it's growth spurt and requires lots more calories. Activity levels increase. Your mom should understand and make sure that you are getting the nutrients you need to sustain growth. Eat lots of proteins and fruit (meats and vegs as well as bananas). The next thing you will be asking is why are my arms and legs aching. I grew like 9 inches in a year and my bones ached from the rapid growth which is all normal. Not too painful, just achy. My uncle is a Doctor and he was really good about explaining 'lots' of stuff to me about puberty.
I think the worst part was being constantly Horny LOL which I still am. My stepmom's son lives with us part time and I share a room with him he's 13 and she is real good about having ton's of food in the house for me, my older brother and my step brother. Dinner is a feeding frenzy and we go through like two gallons of milk a day. The fridge is always empty from being raided HaHa. She told me she spends almost $400. a week on groceries. But when you think she has 3 growing boy teens in the house I guess it's normal. We all eat constantly. A bag of chips lasts like 2 minutes and a gallon of ice cream one meal. Also she loves to cook and bake so we have lots of goodies. We need a banana tree as she buys them by the bushel LOL.
Dude so normal. Let her know you need the constant food to feed your growing body. I guess it could be a burden for some families with limited income, but you need your health.

LOL same here. I'm 13, only 4'10" and weigh about 80-85 lbs, but lately have been eating a lot more than my dad. Am told that's typical of being a teen. A couple of nights ago I ate two really big subs. Last night we went to a buffet and I had three big platefuls plus desert. Lots of times I raid the fridge late at night for whatever I can get my hands on.

Trust me, eating more is normal. It would be weird if you didn't have this hunger thing going on.
I myself consume 3000-4000 calories a day but maintain a skinny figure. I actually just finished a cup of Ramen... :D

The hunger is almost certainly caused by growing. Growing requires engery and also protein as the raw material for growth. If you are short of either one you will be hungry. So, it's ok to respond to that hunger by eating but if nothing seems to satisfy it then check you are getting enough protein. In that respects proper, balanced meals are better to eat than snacks which tend to be mostly carbohydrate and maybe some fat. See if you can get your parents to give you bigger portions at those meals rather than snacking.

An increased appetite is a tenant of puberty, especially in guys!
