I reckon it is much more likely it has been changing gradually so you never noticed. To be sure, ask a relative who has not seen you for a while. Or record something and post it for others to listen to.

Well it's most likely that it has changed a little. If not, it'll happen soon and gradually.

Have u gone through the other stages of puberty ? If u haven't you may want to speak to a doctor, if u have try recording yourself and listening to it to see if it is deeper than u think. I always think my voice sounds like it did 5 years ago and then I listen to a video someone took of me and I'm like shit whose voice is that as it is a lot deeper than I hear myself.

Mine changed a lot last summer, pretty much before I turned 15. How about your dad and brothers? do they all have higher sounding voices? I bet you don't sound like you're 12, so maybe your 'changed' voice is just higher?

my dad has a very deep voice, but my brother doesn't. he's 15, all the men on both sides have deep voices.

I can grow a full beard, I have lots of back hair, pit hair, and thick, dark, hair just about everywhere. I even went through the appearance change. but no voice change.

It's possible you may just have a high voice, but only time will tell

Mine was never really bad. Changed gradually I guess. So how high is it? If it's not awful don't even sweat it! You can always pretend to have a low voice. Alter it every time you speak. That's sort of cheating lol but there's no harm in it.

Being that most of my friends are girls, I realized that I started to talk like them in the aspect of my voice being high without me noticing it...lately I've been working on deepening my voice and when I focus, I realize my natural voice is a little deeper, try pushing your voice out through your diaphragm

Yeah dude I know, my voice frustrates me too. I mean I can tell it has definitely changed since I was a kid but it still sounds to me like a young teen guy whose voice just started changing. Mine doesn't sound at all adultlike to me yet, and it even still cracks once in awhile. I am sure yours has changed some, maybe try recording it and saving it, and if you have any older recordings of your voice try comparing it... Maybe even post it on here if you can... I know it is pretty much impossible to evaluate your own voice. Lol maybe I should do mine too.

Hi Tyler, anything is possible mate. I'd not lock on to a specific age at which particular aspects of growth would happen. For instance, at the age of 13 or so, the shortest student of my year had a very high pitched voice. After we broke for school holidays and returned, his voice had become unrecognizably deep; with no visual changes to him otherwise. This was contrasted with another chap in the same year, who was of above-average height and build, who probably grew a further foot over the course of 12 months, but remained having a relatively higher pitched voice; until it broke probably another few years later. He had already developed the other secondary sexual characteristics at that time, like facial and body hair; and increased musculature too - the voice change just came considerably later.

Being that most of my friends are girls, I realized that I started to talk like them in the aspect of my voice being high without me noticing it...lately I've been working on deepening my voice and when I focus, I realize my natural voice is a little deeper, try pushing your voice out through your diaphragm

That's quite an interesting observation, mate. I notice that I speak at a higher pitch (few notes higher), when I'm more engaged with a topic and also speak faster. When I'm calmer, I speak at my baseline, which is a considerably lower tone. I wonder if in your case, you're subconsciously adapting that way, so that you might fit in more? For example, people may speak more or less formally, or even adapt different bodily expressions/posturing in different situations and groups to fit in.

I think you should just wait it out. If it doesn't cange for a few years, then that is the whay your voice is.

Like Michael Maniaci? He's in his 40s now so I don't his voice will change any further. You can listen to him talking about his voice (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E2liGFJFuGk) but obviously you can also listen to his speaking voice and you can also hear him singing.

Falsetto is high, but then most people don't talk in falsetto, at least not most of the time. Just about the only time guys talk in falsetto is when trying to imitate a a woman.

You could explore the possibility that you are taking in a higher part of your voice than other people do. By way of explanation I can make some kind of sound over a range of more than three octaves from C2 at the bottom to F#5 at the top maybe even G5 or even Ab5 on a good day but I don't use the whole of that range for talking - my speaking voice uses between E2 and B3 which is consistent with the fact that most people use the bottom third or thereabouts of their vocal range when talking. Given that when your voice drops it is by about an octave that also means that it would technically be possible to continue talking at the same pitch despite the change - what was previously towards the bottom of your boy's voice would now be in the upper part of your man's voice and would sound a bit strange. I have not met anyone who has done this long term but I think it maybe relevant to people experiening squeaks if you attempt to talk in an area of the voice called the passagio.

It is also worth noting that we also change how we speak according to social cues and a deeper voice is a more dominant social position such that if we were ordering someone about we might speak with lots of vocal weight and go for a deep tone whereas when addressing someone in authority over us we tend to talk in a higher, lighter tone.
