I recently moved to an area where it get extremely cold during winter. I was think of buying some thermal underwear.

Do any of you own thermal underwear? Does it help? Do you still wear regural underwear underneath the thermal underwear?

By thermal underwear, do you mean like long underwear or is it the size of regular underwear, just insulated? I used to ski and snowboard a lot, and I wore Underarmour Base 4.0 long underwear. They're expensive, but really good.

I wear them when I go out into the coldest of winters and I usually dont wear anything under them. but some of my friends that wear them wear underwear too. They do help to keep you warm, though, so it would be a good investment if you are into cold weather.

I tried a pair and I found them uncomfortable. they are usually designed to serve as your underwear so you do not need to wear another pair underneath

Never tried a pair, but they sound like they should do the job

In the winter I do wear thermals-shirts and long johns
especially when I go out and ride my quad or do stuff
outside for a long time. U could wear a pair of boxers
underneath them but I agree it may get uncomfortable.

One of my friends goes ice fishing and he wears thermals because they're warm. Not sure if he wears anything under them. Maybe you could try having regular underwear on too and if you don't like next time go without them on.

I have Hanes long underwear and they work great and they are at a reasonable price too. I wear my regular underwear under them to keep my junk from flopping around too.

Ya I have all sorts of underwear. I have long underwear. I have thermal underwear. I have long compression underwear. You name it I have it. Weather here can go from 20 below in winter to 110 in summer. I personally wear underwear under my long thermal underwear. For one it's warmer and obviously if you need such underwear you want to e warm lol. Also I can wash the regular underwear daily but wear the long underwear more than just one day in a row that way

I wear it for snowboarding or doing stuff outside in the winter. I wouldn’t go out without it if it’s cold, it makes a huge difference! As for wearing regular underwear underneath, sometimes I do, sometimes I don’t. They don’t hold your junk in place, so if you want the support of boxer briefs or whatever then you need to wear them.

Yes, long thick underwear keeps you warmer than short thin underwear. It's science. Lol.

There are so many different kinds tho. The really thick, cheap ones can be sorta uncomfortable and even itchy. They make some good thin ones. Some can be really pricy. Like at REI and stuff. High tech stuff. The cheap stuff is really just sweats for under your regular clothes lol.

You can wear underwear under or not. it's up to you. I would suggest it though. It will keep you warmer for one. Also it will give you more wears before you have to wash your thermal long johns.

I live in Canada so it can get really cold in the winter. I definitely have thermal underwear and it definitely helps. I usually don't wear regular underwear underneath.
