Is it normal for your body to hurt when you grow? I can tell I'm getting taller because my clothes don't fit right, but I feel pain in different parts of my body like knees and joints. Should I talk to a doctor or something?

Growing pains are normal. I get them all the time. They rarely last more than 5 minutes. (For me anyway)

It's perfectly normal. When I was growing I had the same thing and slept a ton. The only reason to go see your doctor would be if you wanted something so it wouldn't hurt as much but you would probably be fine with something off the shelves

Growing pains are normal. Excessive or severe , or continuous pain should be checked out

Yes it is absolutely normal to feel pain when you grow. Your knees are often the parts of your body where you feel it most. For years I had the struggle that for some reason my knees would start to ache unbearably if I sat in a car or a cinema for more that 1.5 hours. This was especially difficult for me because my dad and I would go across Europe by car at least 4 times a year and I would really struggle with the pain in my knees

totally normal man, just a part of the growing process. if it becomes too painful, you can take something for pain, but yea, I never had it so bad where it was unbearable, though at times could def be uncomfortable

NO NO NO NO NO!!!! IT could be bad bro. This happened to me I thought that it was just a natural growth pain and you mentioned your knees! Not a good sign my friend. If it hurts for a lengthy amount of time you NEED to see your doctor. I have what's called Osgood-Schlatter. This is a disease is a knee problem that causes pain and swelling in the shinbone (tibia) just below the kneecap (patella). This is the spot where the patellar tendon attaches to a bony mound in the knee called the tibial tubercle.

This comes from your muscles not being able to grow as fast as the rate at which your body is growing and it forms a small lesion in your knee. BE careful bro. if it hurts for lengthy times you Need to talk to a doctor. I have had it for 5 years now and it sucks. It limits everything you can do and once it gets too bad its there for good. My friend I surf with his dad had it when he was 13 and has it still and he's 51. You need to try and treat it as quick as you can if you do.

One way to tell if you have schlattner's is if you can feel a small bump that isn't supposed to be there right below your kneecap. It's NOT your kneecap, it should be directly below. I have it and there's nothing I can do anymore.

Please be careful its not Always completely natural.

And also. This is not something you can treat with any normal antibiotics or any antibiotics at all. I had to wear 2 knee braces each time the pain was getting worse and it would kinda ease the pain but it's never fully gone. No antibiotics that I know of will help it. But Be careful

It isn't going to affect you a whole lot but let me tell you that squatting down will be the WORST pain in the world if you do have schlattners. It hurts like a Mug bro. but you can walk fine and all that but it hurts a little bit but after you have it for a while you get used to it and it's not that bad but its there.

You shouldn't worry too much. Most cases of Osgood-Schlatter are caused by excessive sport practice stressing the joints. And most cases are actually resolved by doing a very simple thing: cutting down sport activities (an advice the OP likely ignored, leading to his currently very bad condition).

So if you're sporty, then yes, ask your doctor. If you are not doing a lot of sports, then you likely have nothing to worry about, it is perfectly normal. And even if you are diagnosed O-S, don't worry, very few need more than resting to solve it.

There r growing pains especially when u start
puberty at least for me there was. My shoulders

I had them for a while. Pretty normal, especially for people who experience puberty quickly and in one burst.

The only pain I can associate with growing is when I used to get growing pains in my legs as a kid. Those things where the worst!
