Can't wait for saturday. Cooking for 2 of my best friends. Starting off with a nice salad with lack olives romaine lettuce carrots and tomatoes and cheese. Followed by a nice Sirloin Steak cooked medium rare to medium . With Sauteed Asparagus in olive oil and garlic. Unsure what to have as a second side. Thinking of a potato based side but again unsure. Then to top it all off a little surprise for dessert. I hope they like it. Havent cooked for them in a while. Time to break out the Chef Coat

ok so i need help deciding on the second side

a friend suggested mashed with garlic and cheddar

and a dessert

please help guys

help a fellow cook out

thanks

There's nothing better than a baked potato with butter and sour cream to go with a steak. or if they like sweet potatoes a baked sweet potato with butter and a little brown sugar.

what about the dessert

Idk depends on what they like or how fancy you want to get. I usually get a warmed piece of pie with ice cream on top or cheese cake when we go to a nice restaurant

You have garlic in the asparagus so maybe just do the cheese mash -

Dessert - well you know your freinds what would be somebodies favorite or if you want to get a steam up - why not do little tasters of a few different things.

This all sounds very tasty. Wish I'd seen this thread earlier! How did the dinner go, by the way?
