Do you know that nerd who just sits around and doesn't talk to anyone, and you almost pity him because he is just so hopeless?
Hello. Nice to meet you.
There is this girl I like. She is really nice, sweet, and beautiful. I want to ask her out. There is one problem. I enjoy her company and the little arguments we have. If I ask her out and she says no, then there will be this awkwardness between us, and now I will be worse off than before. One of her friends knows I have a thing for her, but I asked her to not tell so there will be no awkwardness, and she has not.
How on earth will I ask her out without risking our current friendship? Should I give up? Should I continue to ask her out until it borders on harassment?

Well..you could just wait a little longer and get close to her. And when you think the time is right, BAM! Ask her out. If she says no, distance yourself a little bit and then continue being friends.

If you two are close already then it shouldn't ruin your friendship, it might actually make it stronger since she now knows you have a thing for her and there's also a chance she'll say yes! So take that chance and go for it, ask her out :)

You can ask in a vague way just to see how it goes - tell her you plan something and then just hint she would be welcome to come along - that way you have nothing to lose and everything to gain - be best if yo know what she might like to do - be ready with a back up suggestion another day as you not know her plans
