I've always been curious about this. Honestly, I don't judge, like, you can think it's funny if you want. I'm just wondering why?

Years ago my brother tripped over a guy who had fallen in the rush to leave class. He trod right on the guys testicles. He began crying, rolling on the floor screaming about his testicles. Except he was laughing too. And all the guys including the teacher were both laughing and wincing at the same time. Everyone was TRYING to be serious, and my brother was so apologetic... it was just the fact it was such a random accident and nobody was seriously injured made it one of those 'you had to be there' situations.
And I think that's it. As humans we do find accidents amusing, just look at shows like 'You've been framed'. So long as nobody is seriously hurt, we find it amusing.
The reason for this might be evolutionary. We feel pain when other people do - like wincing when you see another person get hit in the crotch. We laugh to relieve this tension and internal pain, as it fires the same receptors in us the more empathetic you are (mirror neurons). It's the bodies way of releasing tension that would otherwise result in fight or flight response, a way of using the excess adrenaline. Notice how sometimes you laugh when nervous?
We see this at the extreme in chimps who will laugh whilst killing fellow species of chimps for food. It's their way of making it seem okay whilst the act itself is horrific, without it actually being amusing in itself.

N.B. And then of course there are sadists who enjoy others pain...
