When I first noticed this brown ring around my penis, I didn't realize it was my circumcision scar, but it was around my shaft pretty much exactly where I'd hold my fingers in a ring around my shaft when I'd masturbate. I first noticed it maybe 6 months after I started jerking off and it scared me to death! I thought it was my masturbating that caused it, and now everyone who'd see my dick would know I masturbate!

My scar is not brown. As far as I know, the colour comes from a clamp which is used as circumcision device in the USA. I was circumcised in Israel and we don't use clamps here.

It's not a clamp problem scar, most of your penises are not the same color from the bottom of your share to the tip of your penis. If you ever see a foreskin it's the same color from top to botton, when cut it exposes the color under your foreskin, it's normal.
But maybe it's a guide to show you where tI wrap your fingers to masturbate, that's a great idea.

Mine is really faint - almost too faint to see - but lots of guys have a dark ring where they were cut. I think it depends a lot on which method of circumcision was used. I've read that the clamps that crush the foreskin leave a ring but the little plastic thingies that stay on after you're cut then fall off do not.

mine is slightly darker, but not too much. It's definitely visible, especially because the skin on the shaft is a bit darker than the one from the inside of the foreskin, which was cuted off.
