I am taller than my dad and my mom. My 12 and 11 year old siblings are catching up to my parents as well. I think it's normal to get higher or lower height from the average height of your parents.

I got to be as tall as my mom when I was TWELVE. I'm now almost exactly as tall as my dad, and I just turned 15 last month.

YES, I'M TALLER! But I found it nice, but I get irritated on the way my relatives greet me. It always goes like "Oh, you've grown taller!", "Oh, I can remember you are just this small when we got together last time *then uses his/her palm to show what height of mine they remember*", "Tumangkad ka na ah?", "You've grown so tall! D you play basketball?", "Ang tangkad mo, ah! Naglalaro ka ba ng basketball? (But I answer no since I'm not that fond on playing basketball. Sometimes, I'm ashamed whenever they found out I don't play.)", "Ano height mo? = What's you height? (I stand 5' 9" tall.)", "Are you really the son of your parents? = Anak ka ba talaga ng mga magulang mo? (YES. I'm just... lucky?)", and lastly, "(When they found out I was not that in to basketball) Sayang naman! Ang tangkad mo pa naman. Magaling ka siguro kung oo. = How wasted. You have just wasted your height! I think you will be very good at it when you are used to playing it.". But I can get many good call names like Tall, Tree, Giant, Posts, and many more, which boosts my confidence and I have some benefits. I am also a huggable being.

I'm taller than my mom by an inch. I'm nowhere near my dad yet. But I'm still growing, just slowly. So so slowly.

I'm about a inch taller than my mom. My dad's over six feet so I got a ways to go to be as tall as him. I'm a late bloomer so I might.

I'm way taller than my mum, she's not even 5 feet. I only caught up to (and passed) my dad last year, he's 5'5".

I got my height measured recently and I was a hair under 5'7", but for the sake of like .5cm, I just say i'm 5'7" :P

I pretty much get the same comments too especially that "Naglalaro ka ba ng basketball?" (Do you play basketball?), Yeah most Filipinos assume you play basketball if you're tall for your age (in Philippine standards) hahaha

I haven't been to Philippines for more than 2 years so i couldn't imagine when i come back (which hopefully by next year), Everybody would think im not the son of my parents lol

Yeah that's normal, whenever two people have kids often the child receives the best genetic traits the parents have. Your grandparents or great-grandparents must've been very tall.
