I think it does vary from one person to another too - it sound like you produce more than me, but I also get the varation with length of arousal, i.e. the longer I am aroused the more comes out and during a quick wank may not even see any.

As for there being too much I can see why this would be a problem if you are making out and end up with a huge wet spot but if it happens because you spend ages wanking you can spread it around the head, wipe it off with your finger and lick it, or just wipe with a rag.
