I think you are mostly right. But it is possible to touch your dick and not get hard. I mean I don't get hard when I hold it while I pee. And I don't get hard when the doctors or nurses touch it. Obv I do get hard when I touch it to jerk off. So I think it's fondling PLUS intent (your brain knowing it is time to get hard).

To answer the OP, sometimes I get hard and sometimes I don't. Actually USUALLY I don't. And that's ok especially if I'm all business and in a hurry. However often I want it hard and so I get it hard bc I think you get a better and safer shave/trim if it's hard.

Same here. It makes sense that people might get aroused while shaving, you often have to move or hold your penis in place, to avoid painful cuts. Plus you're paying close attention to your genitals anyway.
