I have a friend who identifies as transsexual. She was born a boy but identifies as a girl. She is starting to take hormones that help her be more feminine. I don't care if anyone is gay or straight but she is sexually attracted to girls. We are great friends and I don't care what people think, but she recently asked me if we could be more than friends since I am single now. I like her but I am little unsure of how things might work if we get together...I don't want to make her feel weird but I don't know if I want to ruin a friendship over something that may not work out. What should I do??

Hey thAt situation is pretty sticky, think about the reaction your friend will have, and how you feel about it and what feeling is stronger, and what you think is more important yo you .

I think it was nice that she talked to you about it, and brave because it opened her to rejection. I've heard that relationships don't often go back to "just friends." But what are your feelings about her?

Well if you are not gay or bi I wouldn't start a romantic relationship with her. If you are straight you should tell her that you are flattered but that you just want to remain best friends but not be romantic. Most people accept and understand the truth. I am sure she will understand. So even if you are gay or bi and don't want a relationship still tell her the truth.
