Today my parents drove from the mountains to the sea (our home). The weather was announced to be rainy and windy, but it was amazing to see the mist spreading from the forest.

Getting slowly colder at about 11 C, also getting relatively drier after the severe rain that happened over the past weekend. Hopefully the rest of this autumn will be mostly dry, like how it was extremely dry and unusually windy and warm last week. All in all, the weather has been unusual ever since mid 2009 here, so I'm never really surprised, but I always lay in hope for a deep winter to come.

It's just moisture in the air that looks like rain but you can't see any water falling and it gets you soaked even if you use an umbrella because essentially it's just moist air and this is Britain 95% of the year. It's chilly and windy. The sun is shining bright, but it's doing nothing to warm it up a little today.

4th storm of the past 3 weeks passing by. Widespread flooding, >100 km/h winds, >70 mm rain for the past 24 hours. Expecting more tomorrow.
The 5th storm will arrive on Monday.

The only reasonable thing is the temperature, though it is still above average for this time of year. After the longest and warmest autumn I ever remember, the transition period to winter sure is unsettled. Maybe winter will finally arrive in full, after leaves stop hanging onto some trees, which I have never seen before in December.
