Girls: Have you heard of female circumcision?

I've just found out about it, and honestly I've never met anyone who's ever talked about it, seen it, or was even aware it was a thing...

I've heard of it, but don't know much on it. I've also heard it called FGM (Female Genital Mutilation), and they do some awful stuff to the clit. Someone told me it's almost the equivalent of cutting the head off a boy's penis. Circumcision in boys can be done for medical reasons, but for girls, there's no reason to do it.

We did a thing on it at school, it's only really common in some African cultures around Egypt, Sudan and Somalia in particular but some other countries in Africa too. It's illegal in Britain and most other European countries as it causes girls lots of pain and can increase the chances of complications leading to death in later life, especially in childbirth. Sometimes you hear of girls from families from African cultures where it is done that are living in Europe secretly getting it done but if caught the families can be sent to prison.

look forward to it? They are forced to do it, and the only reason it is done is to turn them into breeding machines and turn sex into a chore and not something to be enjoyed. That is not something to look forward to.

Some people do, im serious. Yes it causes damage and yes its crazy but when your brought up in a culture that its normal in you cant wait to have it and be considered a real women. Just because the western world thinks its crazy dosnt mean they do too. You are alienating their culture and dont get me wrong i dont agree with it, i just think instead of banning and condemming it we should be educating.
If you google if they look forward to it you will find articles saying what im saying to paraphrase "yes its barbaric but they want it."

Male circumcision is hardly superficial. In an infant, the foreskin is fused to the glans like a fingernail. They insert a blunt metal object to separate them, and then brutally amputate the foreskin.

Circumcision is a form of genital mutilation, and is a horrible practice. I've never forgiven my parents for forcing it on me.

Female circumcision = Female Genital Mutilation, known as F.G.M. Which TOTALLY TOTALLY WRONG and should NEVER happen.

Circumcision is excruciatingly painful. Some of the extreme forms of female circumcision may be worse, but that doesn't mean male circumcision is okay.
