my friend told me that the way you greet them is subjective to your relationship with them here are a few examples

1.hi-this is just like the standard

2.hello-shows respect usually to a older person

3.hey you like this person more than a friend

does this make sense or is this just a myth

I use any of these with pretty much anyone, unless I'm speaking formally, in which case I always use "hello", or in rarer cases "hi" if the situation is more casual/etc.

I greet like most of my friends with "hey", so I'd say that's false lmao

That doesn't make sense. It's a myth.

Well I must have a crush on everybody with that theory.. I find this inaccurate.. I think all the greetings are the same exact thing.

I say "hey" a lot because it's the easiest word of the three for me to cough up.

it's never noticed or spelled out like that.
Hey is friendly, hello is more formal, and hi is easy

^This. I only use "hello" when speaking formally; otherwise I use any of them with people

I use them just a little different. Hello to be more formal or not a friend, hi to friends and hey to get someone's attention.

Seeing as I say "hey" "wazzup" of "Yo" for everyone, myth.

I use all three of those (and more) interchangably for everyone I know, so I wouldn't think there was anything to that.

I use the three interchangeably, but I've definitely met people who think they're very different.
