I can't be the only one seeing it like this, the video playing is getting crappier and crappier, the dashboard and interface is getting worse, the comment viewing is really sucking, things are slower, Google+ isn't helping on top of all that. Why is it so hard for them to realize they're doing a crap job? I understand there's probably legitimate business reasons for some of it, but it seems like they're switching things up all the time just for the hell of it and just breaking the site more and more. Anyone have any comments or opinions of their own about this?

It's proof of the old adage, 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it".
They probably sunk a ton of money into how to make it more of a cash cow
and ended up ruining it.

Remember that Google is under no obligation to you to keep it running at all. You have hopefully seen this in their "cleanings" when they decide to discontinue services as they please.

One thing that may have happened is that your quality settings were changed- click the little gear wheel on the video player and select a higher quality.

The only problem is that Google couldn't give two shits about what we think. Google has become such a huge company that they forget to make their customers happy.

Google won't listen to our complaints and suggestions because there's nothing we can do. What are we going to do, watch Vimeo? No, we're going to stay on Youtube because there's no alternative. Therefore, Google is going to fuck up Youtube as much as they please and we'll continue to use Youtube and a lot of us will continue to use their search engine.

God damn, I've lost all respect for Google+ when they changed the comments section. One of my favorite things to do when I was bored was to watch random 30 second of shorter videos and read the top comments. That was so fun. But nah, Google doesn't care.

Yeah, pretty much. They have us all pretty much eating out of the palm of their hand so they can do whatever they want and they know there's nothing we can or will do about it.

I used to love Youtube. I'd go on it every day to reply to comments, but now I can't because of all the Google+ bullshit. And yeah, the video player is not as good as it used to be... :(

The 2012 version is way better than 2014...
Also I don't like when Google+ merges with my youtube account too confusing...

It's not so much that they forget so much as they don't need to. You apparently keep using it, and that constitutes agreement with their operating procedures. You may have your collective(not individual) voice heard by refusing to use it entirely.

A very similar situation exists with Microsoft Windows. Consider this: how many more copies would Microsoft be able to sell if they decided to fix the many flaws in their product? Probably a very insignificant amount, when compared to their sales at the moment. Therefore, is it worth investing the time and money to fix it when there's no useful return? No! The shareholders would riot at the very notion of this.

Now back to Google: would they, by improving your experience, sell any more ads? Have more people pay them? Probably not. Thus, Google is free to do as they please, which is what the shareholders bid them do.

I never liked Google+ and how it's basically forced on every Youtube use who wants an account there. Adding more and more G+ features doesn't make it any better, just more annoying.

The new layout isn't helping either. It's getting crappier and crappier with every redesign.

I feel like I am one of the few who don't actually use Google+ I don't need it, I just want my Google searches and if a site requires it, I avoid it and move on to the next site.

Same for YouTube, while this is my main source of information and video for amusement, I don't do anything that requires an account, to be honest I prefer Livestream, and justin.tv over YouTube for my gaming lets splays, and Livestream doesn't even support Linux!

As for windows, its good, but not good enough for my purposes. which is why I now am a full fledged Linux user, under wine and with what I do It suits my needs perfectly, except for that origin doesn't run under wine unless patched.

and with google being #1 on the global rank of the internet they should atleast TRY to find some way to improve google+ or google in general

And if adobe hadn't abandoned linux, I would still be using opera instead of chrome.

i think this new google+ stuff is dumb as hell,i tried signing in to my youtube account and i forgot the password,so i click the reset password link,it asks for a bunch of crap like when did i create my account,i dont even know!! so im locked out of my account just cause google+ wanted to enhance the protection

Instead of forcing G+ intergration they need to work on the compression and upload quality.

Often when it comes to video games....I see comments of people saying 'nothing next gen' about this and in actual fact its more or less just the shitty graphics YouTube rendering produce.

I also hate the new YouTube. It's getting confusing to find certain things. It's just getting worse and worse over time.

youtube used to be so much better. But now you have to go through google+, which sucks. It defaults to 360p resoluton, buffering sucks, and overall quality going down.

Whenever I want to watch videos on youtube now I just go on to http://www.youtube.com/tv through the PS4 and connect it with either my computer or my phone so I can watch the videos on the big screen. This site also works on the PC so if you don't really care for the comments, you should probably try it ;):D
