What's your favorite commercial plane and what your favorite military plane? For me it's the Boeing 777-300ER because of the amazing GE90 turbofan. They just sound amazing. As for military F-22 Raptor sad that they're no longer being made.

My favorite military plane will always be the C-141. Call me boring, but it's special to me because it's the plane my dad flew in the Air Force. I grew up around them.

I also got a real kick out of seeing these AWACS flying around the base as a kid.

Probably the new 777X that is coming out, although it's going to essentially kill the 747 as a product. (My dad's an engineer for Boeing).

Agreed on both of those very cool.

Someone must've sat in a meeting and just said f*** it, it's a Monday and we need a slogan.

I've flown in B737, B767, B747 as well as an A320, A330 and A380.

I like them all in their own ways. But I've found the 747's to be quite spacious and comfortable (which is a shame since the Qantas fleet will soon be retired). For short flights I like A320's ahead of 737's.

I don't really have a fav commercial plane, but my fav war/fighter plane is DEFIANTLY Spitfire MK V or Spitfire MK VIII. In Australia at aaa place called Temora Aviation Museum. They have heaps of old WWII planes and stuff. Both working and just for show. They have a famous MK V Spitfire called The Grey Nurse. Mad looking plane! Unfortunately The Grey Nurse had to get its engine replaced while we were there, but they did have a MK XVI Spitfire working and heaps of other planes. It was so mad!

Cost per seat/mile is way lower on 777x vs. 747. Fuel costs are much larger proportion of operating costs as they were when 747 was introduced. I just don't really think there's still a market for the seven-four.

I'd say commercially, the Boeing 747. I think they've always been my favorite aircraft.

As for military, the C-130 Hercules. From time to time they sometimes fly over the school - which is pretty cool to watch considering that the local air traffic we usually get is nothing spectacular.

Too right they don't but I feel sorry for Boeing in that they went first. Then Airbus realised the batteries were dodgy and quickly changed them. I do think that most Airbus products are better than their direct Boeing rival. Only markets Airbus haven't got into are the 757 (thin transat capable) and the 777-300 market as the A340 doesn't really stack up against the 777-300.
