Hi,
Someone was suggesting that when doing things like athletics or strong actives, which involves lots of activity, to go into the toilets before the lesson and change out of their boxers and put PE shorts on but with my trousers on over them. So basically do pe with no underwear on underneath pe shorts. Apparently it helps your pubic areas get air to breath. I was wondering whether any other boys did this and how they get round doing it or does it never get noticed? when I go to the changing rooms, I'd put my trousers on straight away. If it helps, the shorts have some lining in if that heps with anyone's answer.
Apologies if this doesn't make sense.
Thanks

I think u should wear underwear under ur
shorts when doing PE cause ur underwear
gives u support otherwise ur equipment
will b swinging about and u might get
injured-it also soaks up any perspiration.
I always keep an extra pair of underwear
in my locker to change after shower.

I've never seen anyone in the gym with no underwear. Some guys wear jockstraps, some briefs, some boxerbriefs (me). Of course it's personal preference, but I'd want something for support and perspiration. Just seems cleaner when i change into a fresh pair of boxerbriefs after showering.

shorts would help too.

we have to wear a jock or compression shorts. as long as you shower and put on clean underwear shouldn't matter what you have on under your shorts

If the shorts have the lining as you said that keeps your package in place (usually in compression shorts) then you should be all set to go without underwear as that's how its meant to be worn. As for your pubic area getting to breath, yes that's true. Will anybody notice? Probably not. Compression shorts compress like every opening of the shorts. So no one can sneak a peek.

The way I take your statement or question is that you change into your gym shorts in the bathroom stall and then put your trousers back on. You don't mean it to be that you go to gym class with your trousers on do you? Free balling is just going without underwear on under your shorts. I am thinking whoever told you that was very modest and didn't want to change in the changing room so that anyone could see him naked. You should always wear underwear or a jock strap or something in gym or physical activity. Otherwise your junk will flip flop all around when you run or jump.

I love to freeball but when in PE or an athletic activity i need support so wear a jock or sometimes compression shorts

This ^. Not just for those reasons but why over think PE? Does your teacher actually make you guys work up a sweat? My PE teachers never do. PE is sort of a joke. It's fun. But not real sport and that's fine with me. I wouldn't want it to interfere with my real after school varsity sports.

Me either. No one goes commando for PE. Many of us do for distance running. The built in briefs in running shorts give enough support. And after practice we either put on clean underwear and shorts or shower and put on clean ones.

We don't have to wear jocks for PE but some guys do-when it is warm
outside we have PE outside and we do get sweaty. Jocks r mandatory
for junior and varsity sports. I always have a change of dry underwear
if I do shower but that is up to u.

Wow jocks mandatory for PE? Weird. Do the teachers check to see you're wearing them lol. That would be creepy. The only time I was told a jck was mandatory for sports was for a basketball camp I went to one summer. So I bought one but it turned out they just write that in the brochure and they didn't enforce it and hardly any kid wore them.

My bad you said sports not PE right in your post. Still crazy coaches would make jocks mandatory for sports imo. Except baseball, and probably football but even that's debatable imo. Your coaches don't make them mandatory for EVERY sport at your school do they? They don't check to see you're wearing them right?

Its sport department and school policy that if u take
part in any contact sport that u have to wear a jock.
I take it is not just to protect u but to protect the
school district of any legal probs if someone gets
hurt-coaches do ask if u r wearing them and if u r
not u r off the teams-some Do check tho-but not
all.

Idk who that would be more awkward for ... the kid showing that he was wearing a jock or the teacher who had to look
Also I don't understand all the responses about how you have to move and have support for your junk in PE. I honestly haven't gotten even a little sweaty in any of my PE units in years. It sucks to have PE with girls and non athletic people. Still better than real classes tho!

Ok ya as long as the coaches aren't making you like get in line and walk past them then that makes more sense. My coach got pissed at us when we were jackassing around in the lockerroom after practice using the showers as a slip n slide, and the AD made him supervise us from then on. That lasted a week as he got sick of having to watch us change and shower and all that lol. And ya IF I ever got sweaty during PE I would want to shower too. I definitely always shower after morning practices before school. Our PE teachers don't give us enough time to shower even if we had too tho.

I do wear some underwear (boxer briefs), which hold things in place but allow things to breathe a bit. Then, after the lesson, I might have a shower, but definitely change my boxers, and give my pubic area a spray of deodorant

You really should be wearing underwear, preferably of a tighter material like boxer-briefs or briefs, when exercising in order to make sure that nothing is flapping around. That said, if you have to be in a tight material, like a singlet for wrestling, you may be okay in the flapping around department, but I would have a cleanliness concern for you, especially if it a school singlet that has been used by folks before you.
