Fat people growth spurts?

Is it true that if you are fat, you won't have a big growth spurt? I have heard rumors that fat people stay shorter.

Is this true? Does this mean if you are overweight, you will be shorter?

My Dad says that if a pre teen is overweight
the growth spurts will b faster and the teen
will tend to get taller through puberty. A fat
pre teen will drastically lose the excess body
weight during the growth spurts. My Dad is a
doctor.

U still may be going through puberty so
just wait and u just might get bigger but
u have is not all that bad as long as it is
special and gives u pleasure that's all that

Never heard this. Puberty hormones often make you burn fat (testosterone). But there are always exceptions. You will be as tall as your genes make you as long as your nutrition is adequate. Fat people can be tall ... look at offensive linemen in the NFL lol.
