In second place, always believe you can do whatever you propose yourself to do. Third, don't be afraid to self criticize, yet still be positive about it. Fourth, manage your time and habits wisely.

I'd say in the long run, a happy person is much more successful than a rich or famous unhappy person. If a life isn't worth living, it's not successful.

Boosting your own self-confidence, and doing things the way that make you feel best are the start. Going for your goals, and achieving them is everything after. Don't sweat the small stuff. Don't be a perfectionist, and don't get down on yourself. Let yourself indulge and relax sometimes. Take the risks you think are worth taking. Live life by what you think is best for you, because it's your life. However, also take into account what people whom you look up to or are close to tell you, because you aren't always going to be right. And that's ok.

All in all, live for yourself, and help others on their paths as well, because helping others is the good thing to do, and it will help everyone around you to be happy as well. It's hard to be happy when no one else is. Humans weren't meant to function that way, we're compassionate by nature.
