18 year old and 15 year old?

So there's this girl that goes to my brother's girlfriend'a high-school, and, according to her, likes me. I do think she's nice and cute and I could see a relationship forming and I think I like her. So my question: would it be illegal for me to actually date her as I'm 18 and she's 15? I'm not going to have sex or anything of the sort, just a relationship based on love (wow that sounds cheesy). I also already know her very well as we've been friends for a long time.

It most likely would be, to tell you the truth, though there is variance in state laws with provisions for this and that, so its hard to 100% say without literally reading the law. But always assume.

The questions you should ask yourself are, is she mature enough to be compatible with you long-term at that age? Would her parents be against you? Is the attraction mostly physical, or personality based? And, is she interested only because you are 3 years her senior?

I would fully support such a relationship if it is genuine attraction on all levels from both parties. I once got really close to a girl that was 23, and I was 17 at the time. I'll be the last person to judge off an age gap, lol. But in such a situation you need to tread lightly and really know what you're getting into.

It really depends on what the age of consent is in your state. Some states it's 17, some it's 18...some might even be 16, I'm not sure.
It's easy to say you're not going to have sex with her when you don't really know her that well...but that could easily change if and when you enter into a relationship with her. And that's when a myriad if issues start to creep up when two people of said age difference try to date.

Sounds like it's just a visual looks attraction rather than really knowing each other.

I think dating in this situation is legal provided no sexual stuff occurs, but it's a hair-breath away from going into illegal territory.

Honestly sounds legal but can be different based on what country/state you live in. If it's legal and you truly like her I'd say go for it. You're inside the margin for socially acceptable. At least where I live. Here it's fairly common for 14 years olds to be seeing 19 year olds. Which is strange but again very common.

Thing is, there is NO laws to say if you can date a 15 year old as an 18 year old. The only laws are intimacy. Weather her parents like it or not, that's a different discussion.

You could talk to her and ask her if she would like to go out with you. If she does you could ask her parents permission then you would have all your bases covered.

nothing illegal about just dating a minor. But wow, be careful, since doing almost ANYTHING physical (short of actual sex) could get you in big trouble. And even texting sexy messages or pictures could be a big problem too. I don't think I'd start down that path anyway, since either there aren't gonna be sparks (in which case why date) OR there will be sparks (but you can't do anything about it).

Here some girls date older guys because they are more mature. My friend is 15 and she dates guys my age. She is dissatisfied with her generation. Now in Serbia it is legal, but you should check your state law on thisnissue.
