So I've been off here for ages, and now I'm getting Married in dec to this awesome guy. He's away at uni In Cardiff and i'm down in Herts until our flat is ready, so I miss him a lot. He even comes down every weekend to see me.
I'm super nervous for the wedding as I still have stuff to get for it, does anyone have any advice? I'm very anxious atm. I went to have my dress adjusted today and the hook and eye pinged off as i've put weight on (too much comfort eating). I'm the first of my friends to get married, so other than parents and their friends I don't really have anyone to chat to about it. I'm worried everything will go wrong on the day - it's bad enough I booked it too late in the day and it'll be getting dark at 3.30

whoa congrats 0:
I haven't any experience with marriage/weddigs (lol) but my parents told me about theirs and it sounds to me like you need to be fluid and accept that not everything is going to go according to plan. Just relax and enjoy your day, and don't wind yourself up with "what if?"s.

I have no experience with weddings whatsoever, tbh I've never even been to one, but I would like to say congrats and I hope all goes well! :)

I've had to be very fluid. We originally wanted us and 2 others (the minimum you're allowed) Now it's 60 people at the ceremony and probably around 80 at the evening. As someone with bad anxiety, i'm very scared as I dont do people. But we had to do this to make his parents happy (and mine). I'm worried the whole day will go completely wrong, but I won't know until it happens

You need a maid of honor to help you out with some of the planning.

I have no experience with wedding dresses. I just want to congratulate you and give you and your intended my best wishes for a fantastic wedding and life together. Isn't usually the maid of honor and bridesmaids that you would look to for advise and help? Again best wishes for a happy married life.

My best friend is my maid of honour and my bridesmaids are 6 and 13, so I cant expect them two to help. My mother in law is helping the most right now. I feel pretty alone in this other than that. Last night we found out that the lady making our cake can't do it (so close too...) so now we need to find someone to do our cake in time. We didnt even factor it into our budget as she was going to do it as a gift. I've paid for everything out of my savings so far...

First of all, congratulations on your upcoming wedding. I'm afraid I don't have much advice when it comes to weddings, although I would say that you should try to just think about your future husband. This ceremony is all to celebrate your love, and whatever that means to you. Don't try to make other people happy with your wedding, it is an extremely special event for you and your husband - not anybody else.
If things go wrong, or people don't like it, then screw them. Make it your happiest day, not theirs.

although I not married(like almost everybody else here) I've seen several wedding plannings.. and they seem like a lot of stress.
but congratulations! It's one of the most special days in the life, so enjoy it!

It's next month, and I still have stuff to do. Weddings are stressful, but i'm hoping we enjoy our day, because that's the most important bit. I've already said that every so often we should sit down during the reception, and watch everything and take it all in. No point having this day for us and we dont have the time to take notice of what happens. It's about us at the end of the day :)
