Capital Punishment (Death Penalty)

Hey :P I was just wondering, what percentage of people here support capital punishment?

Thought it'd be interesting to see if where people come from may also affect their stance, so if you could say your answer and your nationality that'd be great (but non-compulsory) :D

I know there is (coincidentally?) another thread on the death penalty, but I'm stopping by here to contribute.

I'm against the practice of death penalties as it (in my view) isn't the most powerful method of punishment. Killing someone means ending their existence and you therefore lose control entirely of what experiences they can have, so it is not a punishment if punishment is meant to have pain.

There's more to it for me than just that as it's not the one and only reason for me opposing the penalty, but I find it the easiest to use around here without engaging in more intense and slow argument battles.
