I am 18 on the skinnier side and don't have much muscle at all. I work out sometimes, but I procrastinate or forget to and I have a high metabolism as well. I want to build some muscle or at least get toned so I ca be more confident since most (95%) of all my friends are muscular so I feel small around them when swimming or just being around them at times. So what are some tips that would help? I would rather not go to the gym. The only workout equipment I own are two eight pound weights. I would also rather not have to go out and buy an arsenal of equipment to do this. But I do mind buying a few things if it helps. Thanks!

Push ups, sit-ups, v-ups, etc are always good. Let me know if you have any other questions. I work out with a personal trainer three times a week.

push ups,sit ups,and stand on your toes to build your calfs and ankles, for your biceps, do arm curls, and for your shoulders, get some dumbells and put your feet shoulder width apart, and put your arms to the side, then fully extend one of your right arms and hold it,then put it back down, then do the same with the other arm, also,if you want to tone your muscles, eat healthy and cut back on unhealthy foods, and DO NOT,over excersise,if you do you could end up with health problems

lets see. you should tell us specifically what muscle groups your trying to build up, but for starters. planks, situps, leg lifts, and other variations of those are good for your core.
arms, pushups of course, those get the shoulders biceps and triceps depnding on what your positioning is. try different elevations of your feet to target differenet muscle groups if it gets too easy. for forearms, hold your hands out in front of you and try to bring your fingers to touch the top of your wrist, its gonna sting a bit. do the same thing pointing the ground
legs: squats and calf raises. lunges, etc if you get bored.
neck: shrugs (weighted)
any other muscle groups, just say.

Along with doing exercises like everyone else has suggested, eat a lot of protein!
I suggest you take a protein shake after a workout and eating protein/carbohydrate rich foods throughout the day. Good luck! :)

any particular reason u don't wanna go to gym? i feel awesome when i do a full month of gym... one time i actually got a six pack... any way... one thing to have in mind...

if u want to grow muscles, do exercises with the most weight u can... if u want ur muscles to stand out... use less weight but do more sessions.... i don't know if i'm expressing myself right (english is not my native language haha) like... to grow muscles... do 5 repetitions with a lot of weight, if u want ur muscles to be more noticiable do 15 repetitions with less weight....

Work out is important ,but in your case. You need more protein. I know there is some kind of protein powder for gym guy with no side effect or you need to intake more food that contain protein.

You also have to be careful and ask a trainer to make you a plan

I am basicly the same as you.
But what most guys like us do wrong is they think they'll get muscular by just doing sports, but you actually want to avoid that.
Instead of doing alot of excercises, lift weights and eat alot of good foods. (You can look up on what foods are good for building muscle)

So don't over focus on things like sit-ups and push ups.

Try doing legups as well aa situps. You'll look kinda stupid, but they're much more difficult than situps after about 20 of them. Also, try to eat more vegetables and drink vitamin water instead of coffe or energy drinks. And jogging. Lots and lots of jogging.
