View Full Version : Not sure if this is socially acceptable...

My relationship with my first girlfriend (I'm 16) ended 1.5 months ago and lasted 3 months. Great relationship, nothing went wrong, but it ended in honestly the worst way possible (comment if you want me to go into further detail because it's a long story). Anyways, I followed this girl on Instagram and she followed back because I've seen her around but I've never talked to her or anything. I'm a junior and she's a sophomore and she may be the prettiest girl I've ever seen. I added her on Snapchat and she's added me back and I want to snap her but we've never talked so I'm afraid that it would be creepy. So this question is mainly directed at girls- would it be weird and unacceptable if I messaged her?

Uh... how else are you going to start talking to her if you don't... well... talk?

And why would it not be socially acceptable for you to talk to someone? Rather, who gives a shit?

I'm no girl, but I wouldn't see why that's socially unacceptable in any way.

yeah it's not a big deal if you just message her and say hi...

If it were like a guy at school...I'd prefer him to actually talk to me face to face first, but I understand some people are super nervous about that. So a quick hello message on a chat app or something like that is ok, just don't keep the convo digital for too long.

I agree that it's no big deal to message her. That is how you connect and start to get to know someone. So go ahead and message her and start off what will be or not be.
