View Full Version : Being Shirtless at home?

I like being shirtless while I sleep and of course when swimming, etc. But I have a hard time being shirtless in my house when others are home. The main reason is because my body is a bit on the skinny side and I am a tad self conscious. I don't mind my friends seeing me shirtless but there is something about my family, idk. The thing is, I wouldnt have this problem if I didn't loath it when people point out something I am doing that is out of the ordinary. I become infuriated when that happens, its just a pet peeve. It was hard enough to start walking around barefoot around the house with my parents and older brother pointing it out every time they noticed. Another thing is the fact that my brother is an ass and laughs at me when I do something thats not ordinary. Sorry for the long story. How can I fix this issue? I want to be able to walk around my own house shirtless and not care. I know it must seem stupid to some people, but its a problem for me. Thanks!
PS. The main problem is the fact that I hate/loath when people point things out about that are out of the ordinary, plus I HATE being stared at.

Well firstly be confident about yourself. Your family shouldn't stare that much...
Also if you really want to be shirtless but are selfconcious then build up some muscle or something so you look bigger. Hope that helps.....

I honestly dont bother with clothes at home if i can help it.
If I were you, I would make a point of pointing out how immature your brother is.

I'm kind of lacking in self awareness. I spend most of my time only in my underwear at home because it is the most comfortable for me. I know physically I look like a pale bony 11 year old, but just don't care.

I have done is many times with my brother, though it is a good idea. My brother knows me and knows how to "push my buttons." He would just laugh at me if I told him off. He is one of those people who will never say they are wrong.

No matter how hard it is, don't take offense in what your brother tells you, or at least don't show it. This will make him bored and move on.

I'm probably one of the skinnyest guys u will evr meet. i am 6'1 and i weigh 130lbs. all of my peers say I'm too skinny. you can see my ribs, my collar bone, and my spine when my shirt is off. when i bend down you can see my spine through my shirt... there isn't anything wrong with having a high motabolism, as long as you eat enough. and there isn't anything to be self-consious about. i don't think people will make fun of you. they might actually me jelous of your skinnyness.

Love the skin that you are in, you and I are both skinny.
Although I completely understand the family aspect of your problem.

in the summer when it's hot, I don't care that I'm thin and what my chest looks like, I just want to be comfortable, so I hardly ever wear a shirt in the summer, unless I'm going out somewhere. You'll get used to it after a while.

Just be proud of yourself and don't give a fuck..
I'm shirtless at home all the time, because it's comfortable.. just do whatever you want to do.

I'm 175cm and 59 kg or 5'9" and 130 lbs, most define that as "skinny", but I'm in the low end of "normal" body mass index.

I'm usually fully naked when home alone but I wouldn't stay shirtless in front of my family cause if I lift my armpits up they will start laughing at me cause they are really hairy.

also, ignore your brother. his thoughts fall into the 90% of opinions that arent worth the time it takes to hear them
