Well I am here to say, losing that kind of weight that fast is probably unlikely and unhealthy. But, if you want to lose weight to the best of your ability and safely, I gotta tell you to do the good old fashion eating right and excercise. Just becareful since you are so anxious to lose weight that you dont excercise too much or eat too little. Bad ideas. :(

My friend has also told me about this new diet called the 'negative calorie diet.' When you eat foods such as celery and apples, which burn more calories than they actually have in them.
do you know if this works or not?

Well, I have heard of this and I dont believe that is it practical. In theory it makes perfect sense, but in reality, I think there could be complications with it and I honestly just dont think it would work.

What, you plan on eating nothing but apples and celery? Apples actually do have calories, last I checked, I'm not sure how many you burn while chewing, and celery has very little nutritional value since it's mostly water. Besides, you need 1500 calories per day minimum to function, so if you consumed "negative calories" all day, your body would be forced to eat itself pretty fast, and that's what kills people. Like Addison said, just eat better (5 small meals per day rather than 3 large ones, to boost your metabolism, as well as eating a lot of fruits and veggies, whole grain breads as opposed to white bread, and cutting down on your junk food consumption. Also, try to swap at least one soda, or sugary drink for water. Watch out for juice! If it doesn't say 100% juice, it's probably mostly sugar), and exercise more (20 or 30 minutes, just 3 or 4 days a week should be fine (including 5 minutes to warm up and to cool down). As long as your heart is working and you're breathing a little harder, it's good). Aim to lose no more than about 3 pounds per week on average unless a doctor or a dietitian tells you otherwise, in order to stay healthy.
And a tip most people forget about: Make changes you can live with! Don't eat nothing until you lose the weight, then eat poorly again. You want to get in the habit of eating right and doing some exercise, it'll keep you from gaining the weight back, and it'll help keep you healthy and happy. :)

Great idea to plan and make time for everything. Then you get to make excuse like you never have time. :P

Planning is good, yes! Get some stickers or a highlighter, and mark the days that you do get up and work out. It makes it a little more fun. If you can think of an incentive (that doesn't involve food, or skipping workouts), that you could give yourself for every week, or two weeks, that you manage to complete all of your workouts, that can be good motivation as well. The first few weeks are always the hardest to stick with, so go slow. Make little changes at first. If you don't work out often, and a full 20 minutes of cardio is hard for you (it was for me when I first started), then just go as long as you can without feeling like you're hurting yourself. Trade high calorie/high fat favorites for foods that are similar but healthier. For instance, Orville Reddenbacher makes these 100 calorie mini bags of popcorn, that taste great! And it's a good amount of popcorn, too! Changes like that can really add up.
Good luck! :)

Exerscise. Simple things like taking the stairs, or walking instead of taking the bus. Maybe start jogging or running

Eat healthy, be really aware of portion sizes...
Maybe take up a sport you enjoy, or have always wanted to try, then you're excersizing and having fun at the same time! (corny I know but it makes it less of a drag than counting your footsteps on pavement, lol)
