So I've been asked out a couple of times so I think I'm gonna start dating and get to know people and find that person that I want to be with. I'm legally an adult now though so I'm wondering what going on dates is like since I haven't really went out with anyone in two years now and I never really went on a date with my exes either. What should I expect?

Odds are, it'll be a good experience overall. You'll go to a restaurant with someone and get to know them more. Some things you can expect are your date to do include being polite overall, engaging in small talk to try and establish a stronger relationship. If the small talk goes well, then you'll get into real conversations with them, and it'll be a good time overall. One thing to look out for is them being pigs at the end of the date and wanting to try and hook up with you.

Alright that doesn't sound too bad.

Your a little ahead of me, but I believe this still applies.
Always check out the scene of where you're gonna be.
Like the atmosphere of the date is it a concert (expect crowds), club, restaurant, movies, some house party, or other public venue?
The logistics of where the date is matters on a case-by-case basis.
Bring the required extra pad/tampon in the purse, a way to pay for a ride so you aren't dependent on the guy if the date goes sour, cell phone, money or credit card, and a trusted friend for emotional support if needed.

Hopefully looking to have a good time and get to know each other. Probably just hang out and talk with each other first. Like just go out for a burger or something at first. Take things slow and easy and things will progress and they will go as they are going to go. Good luck.

Dates are either really great, or really cringe-worthy. The outcome reflects how you might proceed with that person in the future, if there even will be a date #2 :P
I'm steady with my boyfriend but when we started dating, our first couple of dates were just a lot of talking while getting food or going for drives. Talking about our interests, our opinions on things, our favorite foods, etc. We clicked very well.
I've also gone on dates before where the other guy is very difficult to talk to, and it's awkward the entire time. That's fine too! Just don't rush things and ask yourself at the end of the date if you were interested in coming back for more. That's how I knew my boyfriend was the one!
