I'll add to the list of complaints then: being tall sucks :P  I can't walk in my basement unless I hunch over. Having tall parents is shitty, cause I'm already taller than my mom, and I'll be taller than my dad in a year or two.

I didn't think of that. You have a good point. I just hope that I get to be as tall as my father, though that probably won't happen.

Average height for an adult male is 5ft 10, so you're not far off

Yup, according to wiki (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_average_human_height_worldwide) you're pretty much the average height for an adult American male, which is good news if you're still growing!

Just out of curiosity, how tall are your parents? I've only just recently surpassed my 5'5" father, and while i've grown around a foot in height since I was 13, I still feel super short compared to my friends (who are all around 6ft or taller).

My dads 5'11" and my moms 5'7". I really wouldn't feel like this if there wasn't a 15 year old that's just a little bit taller then me who rubs it in my face.

I think you're in with a chance of catching up to your dad, guys can grow until they're around 20-21, so you may have another few years of growth left in you.

As for that 15 year old, I know how you feel. I've spent pretty much my entire life being shorter than people younger than me. Nothing much I can do about it though. And just think, there'll be people out there who have stopped growing and would kill to be as tall as 5'8".

Use this as a basis to your answer: the average American male stands at approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall. Before you get disappointed because of this number being just slightly over your current height, remember that this number was averaged from a humongous sample size and that there are approximately 325 million people in the United States, of which roughly half are men. That number stands at about 162 million people. A majority of men fall into that 5'8"-5'10" percentile. I do; I'm 14 (15 in less than one month) and I'm 5'9". However, consider this, the difference between your height and the height of the average male is roughly equivalent to the length from the tip of your thumb to your first thumb knuckle. I wouldn't worry too much.

I'm 5'7" 16 and haven't grown in 3 years. 5'8" is okay.

A quick google search told me the average height of an american male is 5'10". I suppose you're a little shorter than average. However, you still have time to grow, and being two inches below average isn't a big deal.

5'8" isn't too short. It probably feels that way if you want to play basketball or wide receiver but I was gonna guess the average was 5'10 or 5'11 and I guess somebody already googled that it was 5'10.

It doesn't help that my eyes are set low on my head so it feels like I'm shorter too.

Maybe I'm the opposite. I know I'm short for a basketball player (5'11) but I always "feel" like other players/friends who are around 6'1. I feel like I look them eye to eye but in photos I can clearly see i'm shorter.

That could make sense. I just wish that one of my friends wouldn't always comment on how he's taller than me

This is pretty boring normal and average size. So you shouldn't worry, unless you planned to become a basketball player :D

Yea that is about average. I am 5'4 rn, but I am only 13, I know some guys that are 6 feet already at my age, but that isn't normal.

It is pretty average, I am about 5-10, I dont feel all that much shorter than other guys, but I don't really feel tall or tower over people either.its like I am taller that most girls and a little shorter than most guys, or at least it seems that way.

I'm the same as you Skylark. I'm 15 and 6ft tall and hit my head off things all the time. I'm taller than some of the Year 12s at my school. So I would say that 5ft 8" is fairly average for 15-17 year olds, as the Year 12s are 15-16 year olds.

I think that the average height for guys is around 5'9 to 5'10. So you're SUPER close, but just barely below average. So at that point I'd just go ahead and say that you're average height
