I met this guy at a nightclub, and when we said goodbye, he put his hand on my waist, and gave me the french kiss on the two cheeks for a goodbye, and eventually continued by talking to me ear by ear. The music so loud so I couldn't quite distinguish what his words were but he said something about: "Have a nice 18th birthday and party, hopefully we'll get to meet up after". I'm not sure about the words though.
As for the gesture itself - why would he put his hand on my lowerback/waist? He did it to no one else.

Probably flirting with you.

I think he was flirting with you, especially since he implied hoping to meet up with you again.

I'd definitely consider a hand on the waist more than trying to be friendly - that's pretty much outright flirting right there.

I am happy for you. He most definitely wants to see you again.

He's flirting with a strong sexual overtone. (I.e. You'll have the legal right to consent to sexual activity)
But be careful around those boys, their charming with that "rush" feeling, but they might be players or a "fuckboi" as the vernacular goes.

Oh since he's flirting, it means that he found me attractive or something?

ZzeWatermelon: He was probably being flirtatious on the weird side. But if you like him then sure meet up with him- I would call it a little far.

He's too old for me anyways :)

Well that's creepy. Guys who try to pick up girls in nightclubs tend to be creepy. It's not an atmosphere conducive to personality, so much as intoxication and sexual innuendo.
But yeah. Old men will hit on young girls in nightclubs because they think it's okay. Decide for yourself if you want to be thought of that way.

He was a friend of the group I was hanging out with (a guy I hadn't met before though) so he wasn't a total stranger.

In my opinion, putting his hand on your wrist would imply he feels an attraction to you and hopes you feel the same about him. If he's too old for you or you don't feel the same same about him give him the bad news. But please do it in a nice and kind way. No one likes to get rejected straight away.
