Is it true that ADHD medication can cause early puberty?
My cousin started getting pubic hair when he and he takes Ritalin

I found this (http://theconversation.com/study-links-adhd-drugs-to-puberty-problems-in-boys-11694)online and it says it can :) I'd speak to your doctor if you're worried:)

How old is your cousin? Maybe it's natural puberty.

I didn't read the whole thing but I thought no it makes sense that it might speed up a lota things for people. It is basically speed anyways right?
Don't think I'd worry, 11 isn't outside of being abnormal or anything. Think I started about then to. I've been on stimulants for years to

The boys I know who are on those medications tend to be a bit smaller than the rest of us, but as for growing pubes I have no idea. According to that, it doesn't affect when you start, just suggests that you take longer to progress so you might grow hairs on your dick but your voice may not change till you are 15.

I think he's 5 foot 2 or 5 foot 3 and probably about 85 or 90lbs

I've been on ADHD meds for as long as I can remember and if anything, I started puberty late...

This may be the first study to suggest the link but it would not be surprising. There is already a theory going round that better nutrition is responsible for earlier puberty among the current generation and then for previous generations and it has been suggested that achieving a certain reserve of fat, to provide a reserve of engery for the journey ahead, is one of the factors triggering puberty. If ADHD meds lower appetite and make the patient thinner then it would not be surprising if it delayed or slowed puberty.
