I guess it depends on how close you guys are. If your super good friends, I would personally just ask him/ them about it, if your not such good friends, it might be better to just not. I have never jerked off at a friends house before, so these are my best guesses. Hope that helps! :D

Personally, I would just ask or say "I might be some time in the bathroom man, I'm jerking off"or something. If the other guy is jerking off, that's fine- IF you feel comfortable. If you don't say it. You could jerk in your bed under the sheets, or just go to the bathroom and do it, or in the shower/bath. Whenever man.
