Good point here, but you could have also have what is called a retrograde ejaculation and that is when you experience orgasm, but your semen doesnt come out, instead it backs up into your baldder

Yes, I have had this too and, like others, it seems to be linked to stopping around the point of no return and the result can be a half-hearted orgasm that doesn't feel complete. Usually, after that has happened, it takes much less time than usual to feel horny again and want to do it again

We tend think of the point of no return as an instant but I don't think it is that simple. At the start of the ejaculation reflex what is happening inside is that the various glands that make the various components of semen are adding their contribution the bit of the urethra inside the prostate gland where everything mixes together ready to spurt out. That does take time, even if it is very short, and I think it is stopping during this part where you're most likely to get the half-hearted orgasm.

I think the best way to avoid this is to stroke as long as it is pleasurable to do so, i.e. it has not become too sensitive. For me that means keeping going, though with a different rhythm, while it is spurting out and stopping as the contractions peter out at the end.
