Some parents have I think more old school kinda values like that. I remember my dad talking all negative about those types of things from when he was a kid. He used to tell me that guys all thought if you masturbated that meant you were gay. And that was the worst thing in the world I guess back then.

For me, I don't have that type of attitude with my parents. They're actually very open and suportive about my sexuality, masturbation and sexual activity. No don't get me wrong, they don't condone me having sex, and tell me they'd rather me abstain and all, but also understand how it's is to be my age. They ask that I be sensible and be safe and if I ever have any questions or anything they want me to go to them. And I do, and it's always been a good, positive experience for me.

I'm sorry your rents are like that, or aren't they? I don't get why they would, there telling you some of the better things in life are so bad. Well, not saying getting a girl, pregnant is good. Cause I don't think that's so hot. So much at risk there. But I think teen, people in general are really sexual. It's what we do, and shouldn't be shamed into something we're not.

Then don't stop. IMO it's health to masturbate, even if you do have sex on a regular married or whatever, when it may not be possible otherwise

Way I see it is in some ways it satisfies your sexual appetite, fan

Those parents are most likely old-school christian parents who were taught by their parents that masturbation is a sin by god and you'd burn in hell for all eternity if you came because of yourself and not someone within the bonds of marriage. Ridiculous.

It depends a lot on the culture, and you're right for many teens it does feel that way and it is frustrating but depending on where you live and by the type of family that raised you the expectations are going to be different.

Parents don't want us to make bad mistakes. Mine haven't ever said anything like that to me however.

They do that to you at younger ages to keep you away from having sex. Making younger child think that sex is bad makes them more cautious about having safe sex when they are older and makes them so teens don't want STDs or unplanned pregnancies

I have very supportive parents and they are very open minded. I can talk to them basically about everything. Of course I feel a lot of respect for them, but my father is rather my mate than strict parent. Of course, there are situations where they do shout on me or my brothers, give us punishment etc.

I have never felt guilty or bad about being horny. It is normal for boys to jerk off, be erect, experiment. My parents always say to me to be and act as nothing happend. of course nothing should be done on purpose. But for example they know that I sleep naked, it is normal for almost every boy to have morning wood, so my mother has seen already me with boner going to bathroom in the morning. But these are normal situations and she completely understands it.

Also I had several talks with my father about sex and puberty. He explained me a lot, I can trust him. Even without asking he puts some condoms or lube to my cupboard, as he knows that I already have sex.

I was never told any of those things to be honest. I know lots of parents feel like that but since I have no personal experience I could only guess the reasons...it's mostly a cultural and religious thing I think. And the not getting a girl pregnant well they don't want you to make a bad mistake that might ruin your life...

my moms a nurse n we had a very medical sex talk when i was 13. she gave me some condoms n said to ask her if i need more but im not gonna do that.

she doesnt know im bi n she gets kinda freeky abt gay stuff. my lil bro is gay andn im scared for when she finds out.

i think if adults/parents were less freeked out abt sex then kids wud be too, we wudnt make so many mistakes like getting girls preg or being freekd abt not being str8.

Maybe its because they still see us as kids and feel threatened that we are doing adult things, kinda like how we would get annoyed if we were hanging out with friends and a little kid came along and wanted to hang out too. Either that or maybe they want to keep us kids? But then again they always seem to be in a hurry for us to grow up, so maybe they just want us to get jobs, be serious all the time, and use our penis for peeing and nothing else? Who knows, adults are weird...

It comes down to a matter of responsibility, they think that we arent capable of handling the responsibility that goes along with being sexual. Sometimes they might be right and other times they might be wrong, but I think if they treated us more like the individuals we are and not like children, then they would see where we are when it comes to being responsible.
