My parents just caught me masturbating! I can't believe what just happened. I feel so ashamed and guilty and embarrassed and confused. It's late and I thought they went to bed already, but they came in to say goodnight and found me naked in bed with my computer (because my brother is at a friends house). I had my lights off and with the bright screen I didn't even see them until they turned my lights on and saw everything, me holding my penis and the video on the screen. I think, once you have reached sexual maturity, as you obviously have, sexual release is necessary. A religion that permits this only in the context of marriage and without contraception, which is what the Roman Catholic Church seems to advocate, would have the effect of couples having many children which is obviously why, where I live, Catholic families have that reputation.

Of course, that suits the church very well. Whatever you believe about God, the various churches were created by man and have all the usual politics of human organisations including egotistical leaders and empire building. I guess in light of your parents having gone off the deep end about your jacking off it is not surprising that they are doing their best to ensure that you are not alone. Listen, this can only go on for so long, and your parents are just not going to have the energy to keep this up long-term. If it helps you out any, I kind of had the same problem as you on a much, much smaller scale when I first hit puberty. The way I would deal with it was by jacking off by humping the bed at night because no one would be the wiser even if you're sharing the room with someone. Beyond that, there has to be points of time your parents are not home and when you can have some time to yourself. If you have any sane relatives such as an older cousin, either boy or girl, and they are trustworthy, then you can explain your situation to them and see if you can have private time at their places. That's right. A priest can be "de-frocked" (kicked out and fired) for doing that. The seal of the Confessional is one which cannot be violated, and if so, means the priest ends up in the hottest of boiling water. I can relate to your situation as I'm a Catholic too. After much research through my own curiousity, I found that The church says that they don't demonize masturbation as they know everyone does it at least once, but they don't encourage people to do it as it also meant as "Having sex with yourself". They think that through masturbation, you have the capabilities of loving yourself and eventually you'll not have sex with your wife often due to masturbation. I personally think that it's normal to masturbate though :cool: But my mother almost caught me once and she acted natural as if nothing has happen. I'm not sure with your family but my mother is a very open-minded person so I did not get into trouble for this.

I personally think It's not like we'll be punished for our sins (Except for mortal sins like killing). My parents just caught me masturbating! I can't believe what just happened. I feel so ashamed and guilty and embarrassed and confused. It's late and I thought they went to bed already, but they came in to say goodnight and found me naked in bed with my computer (because my brother is at a friends house). i won't even get in to an argument about this, but you both are partially correct. However, to deny the corruption of the Church is simply turning a blind eye to it. Granted, it isn't nearly as bad as it was with Popes ordering assassinations and glorifying rape and war, but corruption remains nonetheless...though they would never admit it

okay, I'll give you my opinion. there is no place in the bible that says masterbation is a sin. however lusting (looking at porn) is a sin. So dont feel guilty for masterbation. I think is is kind of necessary to relieve sexual tension. so as long as it is not taking all your time, just enjoy the good feelings it still works without the porn.
