Hi everyone :). Recently i cant help but dwell on the past. I"m 18 and a uni student. Everyone around me has a gf or has atleast had more experiences than i have. I found myself in love with a girl for 4 years before uni and it ruined previous dating experiences. She messed me about constantly and because of her and myself i haven't had any sexual experiences.
I came to uni in good spirits but it disheartens me that everyone is having sex or getting gfs. I wouldnt say im particularly bad looking just that luck hasnt been on my side. Every girl i like or seem to rate/ end up talking to on a night out ends up having a bf. After my previous few years and the fact every girl i meet seems to have a bf its bringing back the past and damaging my self confidence. Does anyone have any hints and tips about how to keep going or increase my chances of getting a successful relationship ? And is anyone else in a similar position? Cheers , matt

How do you show to a girl that you like her ?
Maybe if girls you like end up with other people, you are doing it the wrong way.
I feel that you have a lack of self-confidence too. You should work on that, stop comparing yourself to other !
It's normal to have never had a girlfriend at 18, trust me, you are not the only one. (:
(sorry for my english, I'm working on that!)

Thanks :) and erm the problem is a lot of them i find out later HAVE boyfriends :p i knew a girl who had an ex jn which she dated 2 years. I was getting close and she invited me over a few times, her ex asked for her back the next day! After that i havent heard from her since :/ itbjust seems like that has been repeated. And i guess i would lie if i said my self-confidence hasn't been vanishing over time! - the girl i fell in love with also wrnt out with THREE of my best friends in the four years :/

Do not belief all you hear - so take it easy and just keep on socialising and talking.
It can be hard - do not pressure yourself.

I see, that's hard but I think there's nothing you can do in this case.
Just move on and keep socialising as said JamesSuperBoy, and someday you'll find someone cool AND single ! :b
I admit I can't understand how can someone be in love with the same person for 4 years if it's not reciprocal but why not!
I know it's not easy but you have get over it, you'll find someone way better who will love you and only you. (:

And I hope so and think I know this will happen one day :P I guess it's just the hard task fighting the demons of the past!
It was really easy for me :p started off friends and I had a crush on her :P got worse with time, ended up ending the relationships i had with different people... my gf at the time for example. I couldn't date anyone when I liked her too much. Ended up only telling her in like the 3rd year I liked her. The feeling wasn't mutual, she knew EVERYTHING about me and I knew EVERYTHING about her, so wasn't a case of just stay away from her :P sometimes she was the only one who got me!
But anyways thanks alot for your advice :P

your past messed with your future, and you can't let that happen. it takes time, and it might not be easy, but you have to before you might be able to have a relationship and you can't let others relationship bring you down, everybody is different, but that doesn't mean you can't have a relationship
