So right now I'm 16 and 5'7". I haven't grown since I was 13, okay maybe an inch. The main effects of puberty started when I was about 12. Basically, at 12 I was 5'0". Then, when I was 12.5 I went through a growth spurt of 5 or 6 inches very rapidly. That left me at like 5'6.5" at 13. It's been 3 years and I haven't grown taller. I have progressed in puberty normally in every other way, but have not grown taller. My mom is 5'8" and my dad is 5'11", so I should be like 6'? I was always a little taller than my friends, then puberty hit and I was much taller, but now they are taller than me. I know growth happens in spurts, but it's been 3 years and I'm already almost done with puberty. Boys are supposed to grow around 11 inches in puberty, but I only grew 7? Since my height was the right height as a child, I guess something went wrong during puberty lol. It seems unlikely I will grow anymore. So these people saying u grow until ur 20 or whatever are wrong, ur basically done by 16-17 and it can end much sooner. But it's all good, short guys rock. :metal:

You may be on a slow spell. You may not notice the changes right now since they may be a hundreth of an inch, but you may be like one of my uncle and have another growth spert and be even taller. Hight can also be affected by the amount of caffene intake(coffee exspecially) and the amount of food you eat.

I dont know why you think you should be six foot tall, if your dad is only 5'11" and mum 5'7", generally you end up being taller than your mum and sometimes your dad. Also generally you have around three growth spurts during puberty and hardley anyone is finished so early but its posisble. Theres nothing anyone can do to help their height as long as the have balanced meals and sleep so dont worry.

Hm, I hope I'm not done growing as I'm still very short.
I guess it's different for anyone how or when they grow. Like for some of my friends they have this massive groth spurts and me and some others are just growing slowly and steady.

How do you know how tall you should be?...I mean that you are supposed to be taller than your Dad?

I wouldn't worry too much about growing...just wait and see maybe you have this growth spurt with 19-20 after all?

5ft7 isn't really 'short'. You are below the average height for your country. But an average is exactly that: an average. Some people are taller, some are smaller. But your current height is perfectly normal for an adult male, so even if you've done growing, you shouldn't worry about it.

Of course, it probably means you'll never become a wonderful basketball player. Shame. You'll have to chose another inferior job like French president (Nicolas Sarkozy, 5ft5), movie actor (Tom Cruise, 5ft7) or astrophysician (Albert Einstein, 5ft7). I know, I know, that's a much less glorious path... :P

Everyone is different. Some people even have a growth spurt in college. Don't give up. There is still a chance that you will grow more. Most guys end up slightly taller than their dads.

There's no set rules or time. It's in your genes. If your parents are of similar heights, and you are already close to the height of your dad, you will be unlikely grow much more. You may find you will grow earlier or later like your parents did

Impossible to tell. Everyone is different. I was similar to you, then I grew 1 more inch when I was maybe 14 and 2 more inches when I was like 15-16, I bet you grow at least one more inch tho (and it could be more).

From what I've heard most guys finish growing in height by the time they're 15 or 16 so most likely you're done growing. It doesn't mean something is wrong though. There isn't a certain amount guys are supposed to grow from what I know and many of my friends haven't grown much taller from when they were 11 or 12. But like you said it's not that big of a deal, plus 5' 7" isn't that small :)

Only time will tell my friend, 6 inches is a good size though so you're perfectly fine ;) I'm about the same

LOL This thread was about height not penis size haha.

Anyway, a lot of u guys are saying theres still 'potential' but I'm already at the end stages of puberty, so it seems unlikely. I just want people to know that some people do finish early. Oh well haha.

Based on your puberty and hormones if active you will be rapidly grow

I highly doubt you're finished growing at 13:)

Your body doesn't completely stop growing until 21. Puberty stops at 16-17. Technically, I don't see why you would stop growing now.

Actually, puberty can easily continue into the early 20's for boys. But there's no defined age or ending, it all depends. Girls usually stop in their late teens

Okay for you guys saying you can still grow at 25 or whatever, that's not normal. Normal meaning it doesn't usually happen that way. Most boys are done growing at like 17, maybe some grow an inch after that. Well if someone can grow until 25 or whatever, there's a good chance someone can stop growing say 4 years earlier. This is height wise, not maturity wise. I don't want to give people false hope saying they're still gonna grow when they aren't. I grew an inch after 13 and I'm 16 now. I could grow one more inch, but the majority of it finished when I was 13. Just as some people can grow for 7 years until they're 25, people (particularly shorter individuals) can grow for just one year and be done growing in puberty.

They are talking about mental development. Your brain doesn't stop mental development until you are 25. Physically, 17-18 on average but it can occur at any age and I mean any age, but that's all up to genetics.
