View Full Version : Pimples?

So I shaved my face. And the next day there were pimples on my chin and cheeks. They are like dark red and in clusters. Itch a lot. Its been a week or two since, they have reduced but are still there. Don't itch anymore. Why did they come? I used a Mach 3 and plenty of foam. Am I allergic to Mach 3 or something? Or is my skin sensitive?? (Used a regular Mach 3 not the sensitive one).
Thanks for any help.

Its called razor burn, it happens to sensitive skin and often the first time you shave. It also happens if yiu shave against the grain of the hair.

The blade is probably fine, like said above you probably shaved against the grain, shaving in the upward stroke. Shave down, the same direction the hair grows. Also try a a good quality shaving gel for sensitive skin. You don't need very much, maybe a blob about the size of 2 peas, it'll lather up into a very thin coating. Just no need for any more. Also, always wash your face really really good before you shave and wipe down the face with a clean damp towel with hot hot water after to remove the excess gel. It's also partly your new to shaving. It's a change for your skin, it'll take some time for your face to get used to shaving.
Good luck :)

Thanks! But as far as I remember, I took care to only shave downwards. Anyway, will try some months later, this has really put me off. :P Interesting thing though: I didn't tell my parents I shaved, and my parents got worked up. (our son is developing acne, pimples, wash your face frequently son) and i was literally lmao. :D My dad can't identify a razor burn!!

I agree with camo115 You will need to find a shave cream for sensitive skin.

Razor burns. Use sensitive skin razors and cream and apply aftershave when you've finished shaving your face to prevent razor burn. I get it a lot because I shave against the grain every other day.

That's fine but keep in mind that everyone reacts differently to stuff. So it not always this or that. Plus it's probably been years sinse dads had razor burn. It's more about something new being done to skin that hasn't been done to it. So he might not remember is all
