I'm thinking about taking these classes in eleventh grade next year. I just wanted some opinions on whether or not you think this is a good schedule.

English 11
Chemistry (or Earth Geological Science, Explained below)
Algebra 2
Peer to Peer P.E.
American Cultures 2
Resource (Free Period with Teachers who help)

I was in Earth Geological Science this year, but I got moved out and put in Physics at my career school during a schedule change. I decided to drop out of the career school and attend my regular school for a full day. However, since I never actually completed Earth Geological Science, I might have to retake it. I wouldn't mind, but I had a 57% in Earth Geological Science before I got moved into a Physics class. Even though I have a choice to take Chemistry, I feel it would be in my best interest to retake the Earth Geological Science. I had a horrible grade, and I don't think I would do well in Chemistry, taking into consideration my Earth Geological Science grade. Although, I feel that I should mention that I have an A in Physics right now.

Peer to Peer P.E. seems like a great idea for me because I can work with special needs students in gym. I've actually worked with the kids before and I love playing with them. Honestly, I hate gym class, but I have loads of fun in this one. Even though I've never had Peer to Peer P.E. on my schedule before, I have participated in the class when I had free time. This seems like a good gym class for me because it feels great helping people and let's face it, I've never had so much fun in gym before.

Algebra 2 is a subject I'll definitely be taking. Algebra really is my strong subject. Math is my favorite subject, so I have no doubts about this class. In Algebra 1, I got straight A's. In Geometry this year, all of my grades are B's so far. Hey, I said Algebra was my strong point, not Geometry! I have a file of all of my tests from last year. Some are shown in the spoiler below. My intention is not to show off, but I wanted to know if Algebra 2 is any different from Algebra 1? I've heard people say that Algebra 2 is very difficult, but I'm not sure? My Resource teacher said to keep my tests filed away as those grades would look good on my senior project. Would I struggle if I doubled up on math classes by taking Algebra 2 and Statistics at the same time?

Do you have any suggestions on my schedule? Thanks!

Are you planning on taking any advanced classes? They could do you good.

I was thinking AP Biology would be okay. I actually trying to get into Honors Algebra 2, but I think a teacher needs to recommend me.

I'm in algebra 2 now, and, in my opinion, it's easy. And not much different from algebra 1, just a continuation. From those grades, I think you'd be perfectly fine doubling up.

Thanks! I most likely will double up if it fits my schedule. :D

All this talk of advanced algebra makes me feel insecure...I have dyscalculia...XD
But yeah, I would take advantage of those grades if me was you...Good Work :D

Be careful not to overload yourself, though. That could be stressful

I'll try not to overload myself with work. I kind of know what it's like to get a lot of work. It shouldn't be too hard, though.

I liked seeing this thread because so many people try and load up with 4 or 5 AP classes, and there's really no need.

I think the PE class sounds like a really good class to take. It sounds like given your likings and dislikings, it's a good way to get the PE you need.

I think if you can do physics, you'll do alright in chem. I won't say I find it easy, but with work, you'll likely see the grades. You'll definitely want a high school chem class for any higher education you decide to do, so I recommend taking that. Odds are if your school works like mine (and many), chem would be a graduation requirement and earth science would fall into science electives, but I'd check with your school on that.

It sounds like you like math a lot. I'd talk to your current teacher about moving up. If you're willing to put the extra work in and your teacher's willing go 'sign off' on you moving up, I say go for it. A little challenge is always good.

I think your schedule is good though. It's a healthy mix of classes and it doesn't sound like you'll be too overwhelmed. Best of luck to you!

Thank you everyone!

UPDATE: For my electives, I'll be taking Business Presentation (sem) and Accounting (sem). I took Sports Marketing last year. I'm doing with these Marketing classes because that's what I want to go into.

I'm currently a junior at my high school. From experience, you should be fine doubling up on math. As for science, Earth science isn't similar to chemistry in much regard. AP Biology would look good for colleges too. However, some colleges require chemistry, so be sure to take that into account.

Thanks! I think I'll take chemistry. We start scheduling on Wednesday, so I'll probably post an update then. The only problem is I think my Earth Science teacher has to approve of me taking chemistry.

UPDATE - I made my schedule today and I put chemistry on it, but my resource teacher said they're probably going to have me retake Earth Science. I hope it doesn't happen because I don't like the class, but I won't know until later. :(
