So yeh there's not much to say tbh, my best friend has a brain tumour, luckily they caught it early so he's having an operation sometime in July (not sure exactly when). For those of you who have unfortunately had friends or family in this situation how did you go about helping them, comforting them, being their friend etc. I just don't want to be too helpful (he might want some time alone) or to ignore him, i just want to make him feel happy/ do what's best i guess. Any advise on this kind of situation would be great.
thanks!

That's awful, I'm so sorry. My aunt had three brain tumors for eight years before they were ever discovered, and that was incredibly rough. She was pretty good at staying calm and accepting treatments, but we still did our best to visit her often and make her feel at home wherever she was. When we were with her, we didn't focus too much on her condition or talk about it unless it was necessary. We treated her exactly as we had before she was diagnosed, watched her favorite movies with her, joked around, brought her some of her favorite foods, anything we could to keep her spirits up just in case she lost faith. The best thing you can really do is to just be there for your friend and support him.

Your presence would mean the world to him, visit him loads!! Support him through it all, don't say there is no risk but also avoid making it sound risky yourself!

As already said, just be there, that's a shit ton. There's guna be times he don't want you around. Maybe cause something that has to be done that's embarrassing maybe?
If that happens, just keep doing what your doing, but turn away, keep talking to him like you never stopped, like its normal.
You'll both get used to it, and will probably bring you guys closer together, for the long haul that is...friends are there for friends....
