Does anyone know why your soft penis shrinks in cold temperatures? I know balls shrink because the body's pulling them in to keep them warm. Is that what's going on with the penis? How much does your dick change in size when it's cold?

My dick goes from 3 inches to like 1.5 inches, I think it's just to reduce the amount of blood exposed to colder temperatures and therefore reducing the amount of heat lost.

Mine usually shrinks about a half inch or an inch, but I notice after I get done running a lot it shrinks almost 2 inches!!!!! Maybe it is a blood pressure thing.

The Wikipedia article on human penis size suggests this is due to the action of the cremaster muscle which is the same one which raises you balls (bringes them in close to the body) when you're cold. I wonder, personally. Another thing that happens when you're cold is the body diverts blood away from the exremities and into the core to avoid losing heat and the state of the penis is sensitive to blood supply - after all the difference between being soft and being erect is just a difference in blood in vs. blood out.

Anyway, whatever the technical explanation it is a normal thing to happen and reverses, i.e. goes back to a more normal size, as soon as you warm up.

it has to do with the blood vessels constricting in cold temperatures to therefore reduce the amount of blood flowing to the bodies extremities and reduce heat loss. An erect penis or even a large flaccid penis has more surface area for heat loss but when it shrinks there is less surface area exposed so less heat is transferred into the cold environment.

I guess its the blood being kept away from your penis to keep your blood warm and that's what causes it to shrink and my own shrinks half an inch to an inch.

It is perfectly normal and as mentioned it is how the body responds to cold.
When our canoe tipped over last year in very cold water, the three of us after getting out looked like we had nothing it was so cold.

Yeah as others have said it shrinks for the same reason as your balls pull close to your body for warmth. I also agree with like running or getting all sweaty and shrinking.

yep it's protecting itself basically. I have run in temperatures below 10 degrees with just 2 layers and my dick and balls basically go inside me and I have a mangina lol

It's obviously normal, don't know why, but also, if yiur laying in the warm sun nude, total,opposite effect. I'm not talking complete erection or anything. More it feels a warm comfortable relaxed natural girth.

That's the reason why I would think. It makes sense that it would be for the same reason your balls get closer to your body when you're cold. Mine shrinks maybe 1 or 2 inches.

its contract it is because the temperature in the ball is like 3 degree celcius to keep stored and cold when in the morning and this will keep your sperm fresh and it will last long when you need to swallow it

My dick changes a lot when cold like it goes to 1 inch.
I think it is because your body tries to reduce the available surface area as much as possible.
