My family (parents, sister) and I moved into our house 11 years ago. We have been paying rent on it up until now. Our landlord let us know recently that we have paid off the house and it is ours to do as we wish.

So today, we all went to see her and my parents signed the papers. It's ours now and we are going to expand it. YES! There are so many imrrovements to make, and now we have freedom to open the place up.

I'm so excited, just had to post about it. :D

Congrats! I am so happy to hear that you got your home. It should be great to do the improvements you want and be an enjoyable experience. Have a great time making that house your new home!

Wow that is awesome!! But I don't get how it happened? Like if you were just renting it then why did the landlord give you it?

Because we have rented it so long we have paid off the full price. And thanks! :)

Sounds like a 'let-to-buy' scheme, kind of like a mortgage deal but with higher rental instalments. It's becoming the only affordable way to get a home in the Uk, especially London.

Congrats Richelle. It has to be really awesome to live and sleep in your own house that no one else owns. I wish I could say the same about the house I live in.

Lucky you already own a home, Here i am parents still renting since i was born :( though we'll finally move to our own house next year
