Does anybody have experience dating a sibling's friend?

My sister has this friend like 14 next month and I'll be 16 in Oct so I'm not worried about the age difference too much and I know her from her hanging with sis, in fact I gave them a ride to the mall last Sat. I kind of like her and sis says that she'll date me if I ask her but does anybody know what kind of complications that can come up with that? I get the impression sis wants me to ask her out.

Personally I don't have any experience with a sibling's friend, cause my only sibling has such a large age cap it would surely be illegal.

The complications that could come up with it is definitely your sister being a little jealous, and she may begin to feel left out. Unless it becomes some weird love triangle, which isn't necessarily a good thing either.

Umm, nope. A love triangle with my sister? Surely you jest.

Only photo I can think of, maybe. Bestfriend could be replaced as sister, in your situation.

Noooooooo!! I would stay well clear!! You know what girls do, they tell your best friends everything and you do not want that being your sister! You want her telling her all the kinky stuff you do? You want her telling your sister how much of a jerk you are when you break up?

Well I really don't think it would probably be the best idea. You could run into multiple problems down the road.

Well, good point except sis already knows how much of a jerk I am and tells me sometimes.

By the sound of it you already know what you want to do if you don't care about what your sister thinks or knows and you respond by saying yolo to what Shanie. I'd say the age gap is an issue but again I doubt you care.

Actually I do care. I'm close to my sis and I don't want any kind of drama to come between us. That's why I posted in the first place.

Age gap: 1 yr, 10 months. Is that too much?

Thats not that bad, you see some Juniors going out with freshman, and some Senors with Sophomores. I don't see it as a big deal.

I don't see any problem with you dating someone who is a friend of your sister. Its not like you're dating you're best friend's sister... Its just your **SISTERS** friend. Nothing wrong.

Then why when you see an image like this:

You say obviously and yolo? That shows you knew that would happen to your sister and did not care. It is not nice to put dating before family.

As for the age gap, 2 years is quite a lot at that age. There is a big difference between someone at 14 and 16. Is there no girls your own age you can pursue?

You seem to understand the possible dynamics that will probably happen between you her and your sister. And you also see, ok with it. I don't think the age difference is a big deal, but is check whatbyour states laws are about that just in case. And it there's no law about it then follow your feelings and instincts and have fun
