So today, my dad received a job offer which he had been waiting for since last week. My family and I are going to be moving to Austin Texas by the 15th of next month. We currently live in California.

What is the best way to get myself established with new friends and a new school? I am going into my junior year of high school and I really wanna start off strong with a good first impression. Does anyone have any advice or know about Austin at all?:confused::confused:

wel lI don't know much about Austin, but be yourself, try getting involved in sports/different clubs and from making friends there, they will help you become even more acquainted with Austin

I'd check out your new schools wedsite and see what kinds of sports and clubs they have. I hear football is huge in Texas, like it is t anywhere else?
I'm sure there are things like the Y or something, see if there's anything they offer you like, or other stuff in the city for highschool kids to do. You might make some new friends before school starts

Like others have said, just be yourself and try to be especially outgoing to begin with to meet new people. Everybody likes meeting fun, happy, nice people! I hear great things about Austin! I hear they have very liberal topless laws for girls too ... one park in particular is known for topless swimming/sunbathing/hanging out ... so enjoy that haha!
