That would be your doctor. I guess you know that it is to help prevent some childhood cancers.

Google is your friend. Everything you need to know about HPV is in the link above, but to find out how you can get vaccinated will be dependent on your local policies.

Guys can get vaccinated too and it's a pretty good idea. My doctor gave me one after an *ahem* indiscretion. Guys can carry it and it can get passed around orally where it is suspected to cause some kinds of mouth cancer.

My mom hates the idea of her "babies" getting the shot, but we get them anyway. It's just another shot imo.

It's a set of three injections given usually in the arm but also sometimes given into the thigh. It's designed to prevent getting a virus that can cause cancer in girls. Guys get the shot to prevent giving the virus to girls mostly but also because it can reduce some cancers for us also. For some people the shot seems to be extra painful (it was for me and made me feel sick). I still need to get the third shot :( hope that helps.

HPV is a sexually transmitted disease that if not
treated can cause cancer of the privates or even
the mouth-its aimed at teens who r sexually
active and do not use protection so its best to
watch who u have sex with. The vaccine is given
by a doctor and is quite expensive-my Dad has
written many prescriptions for it but he advises
parents to best tell their teens and even pre teens
of being sexually active and also the side effects of
the vaccine which r many-one of which is loss of
sexual urge(horniess)over a period of time.

Found this interesting site. Didn't see anything about reduced sexual urges but guess doctors might not ask about that. I had pain and nausea from the shot. Since you dad is a doctor, did he suggest you get it?

He doesn't encourage parents to Ok the shots other
than if they say they know their teens r overly sexually
active or girls on the pill-No he did not suggest it
for me cause he knows I don't mess around all that
much and I don't. There is a lot of nausea as a side
effect in some that get the vaccine others get a nasty
rash so ive been told-idk to b sure tho.
