Yo everyone. I am 15 years and 10 months old. (turn 16 on 5th September).
I have a noticeable moustache (darker hairs. It grows back into a fine stubble 2-3 days after shaving), and fuzz on cheeks. My sideburns become untidy 1-2 weeks after a haircut( barber uses a straight razor to shave my sideburns). Now, after a month, they have crossed my ears and a sort of fuzz continues all the way to the jaw. I have a few long hairs on my chin, and fuzz on my neck.

SO, should I start shaving? I asked my mom, she told me to wait till I grow a full beard, but I am like too eager.. :D My best friend has started, even though I have much more facial hair than him.
Tell me what to do.

Hey, we're pretty much the same age :/
If you want to, when you're shaving your moustache, just shave the other hairs. Just make sure to do the proper things like, warm water, shaving foam, nice long and slow cuts, yanno?
I would shave if I were in your position, it would also stop it being fuzz on your cheeks and make the hairs appear coarser. :)
PM if you wanna ask more questions

So you guys say I can start? But why does my mom keep telling me to wait a bit longer for it to get coarse? (She's a doctor BTW)

I think you should start shaving, theres nothing that looks worse than half a moustache on a preteen. Also theres a pretty big time diffrence between growing a beard and having fuzz on your lip. With regards to your mum being a dr theres no medical reason to put off shaving or wait any longer as long as your careful ahah.

It is time for you to shave. Shaving is a bitch, but until you can grow a decent beard it is a must if you want a nice appearance. Moms of every profession don't want their "little" boys to grow up. Also, you might consider more frequent trips to your barber.

I would just shave. What's your mother going to do if she finds out you did? I think the 1/3 mustache looks ugly as hell. I should know, I get one. ech

I would shave to stay neat. You say you don't like your sideburns after a while and fuzz on your cheeks so shave. It's your body man. My mom bought a razor and shave cream when I was 14 and said here you need to start shaving. So our moms definitely had different opinions on shaving. lol

Well if you feel like you need to shave you should especially if your looking scruffy your entire appearance is completely thrown off with a scruffy face.

So, I'm going to be 16 on Aug 4 and I already have to shave every couple days because I have stubble. Everyone always thinks I'm older. Mostly I like having the stubble because I think it's manly. But it does get annoying that everyone thinks you're older and doesn't believe you when you say how old are you. But I guess that's a tangent. Hahaha I say shave when you want to. If you think you need to now you should do it.

Hey guys. I am REALLY pissed off now. :( had a talk with mom, she bluntly REFUSED to let me shave!! She says wait till you grow a proper beard, don't shave now. Atleast wait 3 months. And she started ranting about some stupid sh*t about not jumping into things and crap. This is so f*cking annoying! I am totally mad right now. I'd have still shaved, if I had a razor. Thing is, I need to get a Proglide with her money. Life sucks.

Start shaving now that way it grows back fuller. Like above, the half facial thing sucks

I don't recommend that you shave. Try trimming it up with a beard trimmer. You'll look clean.
I'm 17 in November and I don't shave, I just trim it up. Shaving before the hairs have fully grown prevents you from getting a good beard and moustache.
So I recommend that you trim, not shave.

I don't have a thick beard or mustache or anything, but I absolutely hated having the dark shadow of hairs on my upper lip, and my mom had hinted at maybe starting to shave, so I started to shave only for aesthetic purposes. I shave maybe once a week or so, just to keep a smooth face.

Ugh same problem here, I'm getting so self conscious about my sideburns and moustache and both my parents said that I should wait if I want to start shaving when I asked them.

I don't think I'll have to worry about it for a while but I'd think shaving everyday would be a hassle.
