Okay I'm confused... I'm in a relationship with a guy. I definitely know I am bi. But does bi mean being gay? I thought gay meant you are only interested in your own gender. I think some people misuse the word. I know I could have searched this on the internet, but I wanted to know from you guys :).

To me gay means you like the same gender. Bi means that you like both males and females it doesn't have to be equally like some people would say.

I think that twin has it right above, but this might help a bit more:
This is from the **The Big Sexuality Sticky - This WILL Answer Your Question!** (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=125182) sticky thread at the top of Teen Sexuality and Gender.
Heterosexual- One who is physically and emotionally attracted only to the opposite sex
Homosexual- One who is physically and emotionally attracted only to members of their own sex
Bisexual- One who is physically and emotionally attracted to both sexes
Bi-curious- One who is physically attracted to the same sex and emotionally and physically attracted to the opposite sex but unsure of their orientation. People who are bi-curious are interested in both sexes, but this does not necessarily make them bi-sexual. Bi-curiosity be a phase or a short interest about experimenting with either sex.

Gay means you like the same sex. Bi means you like both of the sexes. If your transgender, Gay would mean you like guys if your FtM or Girls if your MtF. Bi would be same as above.

don't know how old you are, but from my experience most boys are very curious when they start puberty. don't let an erect penis define who you are at our age, it's way too soon. plenty of time to figure it out. and don't be ashamed if you have thoughts, or experiences, with other boys. it's common and natural for it to happen.

to me gay means you are physically and emotionally attracted to the same sex only.
Bi to me means you are physically and emotionally attracted to both female and male equally or at least 60/40.

If you are bisexual you're attracted to both sexes.

If you are bisexual you have attraction to your gender and others, and if you are homosexual you are only attracted to your own gender. Despite this, many people will use the term gay to describe themselves, or their relationship, for various reasons. Think of gay as having a specific menaing, but it also being an overarching umbrella term.

A lot of the time people think bisexual people are either gay if they are dating a boy, or straight it they are dating a girl (for guys). This is FALSE. Bisexual people are always bisexual no matter who they are dating.
So if you are a bisexual guy who is dating another guy, you are bisexual, not gay!
Hope this helped! :-)

A lot of the time people think bisexual people are either gay if they are dating a boy, or straight it they are dating a girl (for guys). This is FALSE. Bisexual people are always bisexual no matter who they are dating.
One of my Facebook friends has been ranting about this. He was in a relationship with a girl, that came to an end and now he is in a relationship with a guy and a bunch of people have reacted by saying "So you were gay all along!" and he says "No, I'm bisexual".
People do seem to like the dichotomy of gay vs. straight and probably because there are only two sexes and if one is in a monogamous relationship with one other person that person can only be of the opposite sex, making it a straight relationship, or the same sex, making it a gay relationship. As a concept a bisexual relationship does not make any sense.
Likewise a sexual act can only be heterosexual or homosexual. As a guy, licking a girl out is a heterosexual act and sucking a guy off is a homosexual act.
But it is important to distinguish between particular relationships or particular acts and the underlying sexual orientation of the person enaged in them. When it comes to desrcibing one's sexual and romantic attraction it is much more varied than gay vs. straight and bi is certainly a very valid orientation. Even those three don't fully describe all the variations. How would you, for example, distinguish between a guy who is genuinely exclusively attracted to girls and has zero interest in doing anything with a guy from a guy whose major attraction is to girls and will almost certainly only ever have relationships with girls but for whom guys may sometimes enter his fantasies or who may be able to enjoy some casual fun with another guy if he finds himself in a situation where a guy is available and a girl is not? The Kinsey scale (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale) attempts to address this.
