I'm not particularly looking for replies, just need to vent. If you wanna reply that's fine too.

So I have a younger sister, she's 10. The rest of my family and I love her so much and are nothing but nice to her, but what does she want to do? Be defiant! Try to make every fucking thing we do a competition between the two of us whether it's "Whoever gets to the kitchen first wins!" "Whoever buckles their seat-belt first wins!" and everything in between! Refuses to compromise and screams and yells whenever anyone else gets what they want! Ruins a good day by causing disagreements, making a huge deal over petty things, and complaints! I'm not perfect, but I am nice to her and try to do things with her. I think she is trying to get attention, and thinks I get more attention than her just because I'm involved in a lot at school, have won awards etc. But I never brag if I win something. My parents treat us equally and have given her no reason to think that I get more attention. She's young. I hope it's just a phase. Rant over.

It's probably just a phase. She's still young, so it's normal for kids to be annoying and do things like that at that age. Just try to relax and hold on, because in some years I'm sure she'll change.

She's still young; all kids act obnoxiously at one point in their lives. Just wait it out.

I'm sure it's just a phase as all kids go through phases. Mom always tell me (just remember you was a kid once) i'll remember that quote when my little baby brother goes though them phases.

I agree I think it's an age thing and a phase she is going through. You might try sitting down with her and having a heart to heart sister talk.

Well you have to try and communicate with her in some way or an other.

I've tried... it's impossible to get through to her. She refuses to listen.
