I have a linksys wireless b router, and I installed apache web server on my computer so I could make an ftp server, I went to my ip so I could open some ports but now when I enter my ip, it just says operation timed out, has anyone had this before and know how to fix it. I've been able to use the configuration utility but it seems that it doesn't work since I installed apache. and I have e-maild linksys but it's been 3 days and they havn't e-mailed me back yet.

try pushing the reset button on your router

you dont type in your ip to get into the router you type in the routers ip you can find this by opening a command prompt and typing ipconfig and the gateway is your router

That simple.

And if ya have a server set up without a router or redirected gateway, then you should be able to use localhost (on those browsers with name recognition - such as IE) or 127.0.0.1 to find the server, but with blocked/stealthed ports you might only be able to get a ping from it :?

ok I got it to work with the default gateway, before I would use whatismyip.com and just typed in the ip displayed and it would work fine, thanks for helping.
