Lost interest

I don't know whether this is normal or not so I just wanted some advice. About a year ago there was a girl I really liked, we talked all the time and texted. We'd shifted a few times but she wasn't really interested in me that way. We stopped talking after she changed years. After that I've just had no interest in pursuing girls or relationships. It just seems pointless. I liked this girl for a long time (and still do) and I haven't been able to get close with anyone since. Has this ever happened to anyone else or is it just me?

It happens. You get rejected (in a sense), and your natural response is to sort of withdraw. Plus, you focused so much attention to that one person, when he/she's gone your brain's like "Well shit, what now?" and you sort of try to just figure out how to live and cope with it, and slowly let go of the attachment to that one person. The remaining attachment is what causes that lack of interest in others
